Practitioners

Amanda Pumo

Amanda practices Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Counselling, and has an excellent background in psychological areas. Her special interest is working with children and teenagers, but also enjoys working with phobias and trauma addictions. She has a very person-centred approach with clients, and her gentle and open methods are key to her positive counselling techniques. Amanda's approachable nature is key and crucially all of her work is done in the strictest confidence.

A welcoming chair

Amanda originally worked in the voluntary sector as a counsellor whilst bringing up her three children. When they became less dependant, Amanda trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist to further the work she most enjoys - helping people to be fulfilled and happy and to achieve their best.

She enjoys working with teenagers and children as she feels the benefit of positive counselling and NLP can really make a difference to their lives. Amanda also enjoys using NLP and hypnotherapy to assist in difficult lifestyle changes, such as giving up smoking.

Training and Experience

Amanda always practiced privately. She has trained with the Proudfood School of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, receiving her diploma in 1993. She has additionally studied at Nottingham University, where she gained her Advanced Certificate in counselling. Amanda is also an experienced practitioner of Neuro Linguistic programming. She is a member of the U.K. Guild of Hypnotist Examiners and is on the national Hypnotherapy register. Amanda has been a resident hypnotherapist on Radio Derby since 1997. She offers training in Personal Development and Interpersonal Communication and gives lectures about them.
